The Shimano Calcutta DC is a big step forward in cast control technology. The Calcutta DC uses a revolutionary Digital Control system and has 8 different pre-programmed braking patterns based on lure and casting type.
With this technology, each of the 8 pre-programmed braking patterns provide awesome control of the feeding of the line by applying the ideal amount of braking force at critical intervals. As a result, it is possible to achieve long, accurate casts with consistent backlash control. The application of the “smart” braking by the Digital Control System quickly stabilizes the spool rotation. Digital Control varies the amount of braking force depending on line tension, minimizing the chance of the backlash.
The increased RPM’s provided by the Digital Control System ensure longer casting and at the same time the pre-programmed braking patterns allow for easy external adjustment for any angling situation. It also ensures an extremely manageable cast with less backlash.

The Shimano Lesath Spinning rods have been improved for 2009 with the addition of Power Leather handles and Fossilwood Clicker reel seats.
The Shimano Lesath is the peak of rod technology, design and performance in the spinning rod world.
These spinning rods are built upon blanks which combine XT400 carbon with Biofibre.
There are 22 rods in the Lesath range to cover every imaginable task.
